Welcome to www.quitthesmoking.com the site specifically set up to make available the ebook 'How I Quit Smoking' the diarised account of every smokers nightmare.

The book, by its very nature, being a diary, answers many of the questions all smokers ask, whether contemplating quitting or not.
We would all love to know what it feels like to set about making the decision to quit and actually choosing the moment to do so. We would all love to know how long the craving lasts before it gets easier, and when and if it actually does completely leave us. We would all love to know what is likely to happen next. We would all love to know how difficult it gets and how to overcome the difficulties. We would all love to posses the magic word to make the reliance on nicotine simply disappear. And, we would all love to know, unequivocally, that all the claims by ex-smokers are true, that the craving actually no longer remains, that the preoccupation no longer exists, that the fear of running out of cigarettes no longer exists, and that the overall desire to smoke has gone.
A nagging doubt is often all that is required for any attempt at quitting to be avoided, aborted or deemed a waste of time, for fear the battle will be a lifelong one. Unfortunately, this book does not provide that magic word, but does unlock the secret. It is, instead, simply brutally honest about the fears, anxieties and self-doubt on a moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day, week by week basis. It is written with an honesty only achievable knowing that the only reader might be the writer, should failure be the outcome.
This book will be far more helpful than any patches or hypnosis or counselling. It gives the ex-smoker something to aim for. Instead of wallowing in the here and now, it gives an insight into what will be happening slightly further ahead, and highlights the benefits of the comparisons with varying periods of time. It is also written in such a way as to allow the embarrassment, the fears, the anxieties and the self-doubt to be more acceptable, and indeed an integral part of the process.
It covers the rather embarrassing realisation of the hold the addiction has on us, the denial, the changing and strengthening of attitude, then on to the call to battle, as it were. It covers the journey through the myriad of emotions and on to the realisation that success is actually achievable, and finally to the almost euphoric sense of achievement at having succeeded and the ability to look back at it all as an ex-smoker.
It is an account that has nothing to gain by dramatising, embellishing or lying about the experience. After all, the diary was written with the knowledge that there may only be one reader.
Experiences may vary from person to person, but the underlying emotions, fears, anxieties and eventual sense of achievement, euphoria and satisfaction will be encountered by all who are successful in quitting smoking.

Good Luck

There has never been a better time to quit smoking.

If for no other reason than financially, becoming an ex-smoker is extremely beneficial, especially as the world is on the brink of a serious recession.

I quit smoking some five years ago, and on my first attempt, and wrote a book, in diary form, to help anyone else who wishes to quit. The book is called How I Quit Smoking.

There are an enormous amount of so called aids to quitting smoking, with hypnotherapy, nicotine substitutes and nicotine patches. However, I advocate none of these.

I believe that the best way to quit smoking is to simply extinguish the last cigarette and just stop smoking. It is an uncomfortable experience, which requires a deal of willpower, but is inordinately rewarding and satisfying. And the sense of achievement at being free of tobacco is almost indescribable. I still take great joy in being able to say ‘I Quit Smoking. I no longer smoke, I am an ex-smoker, and I will never smoke again.’

I do not believe that prolonging the agony by substituting the nicotine with nicotine patches or a lozenge will help in any way. All that is required is for the body to be rid of the addiction, and the best way of doing it is to deprive it until it no longer craves the nicotine.

I do not believe there is an easy way to stop smoking. I also do not believe the claims by some that they can get you to stop smoking in one hour. I believe that to quit smoking, a period of at least three weeks of hardship and discomfort will have to be endured before relief is felt.

I quit smoking, and with the help of my book, you can quit smoking too.
